OUR MISSION

The Mount Vernon Educational Foundation, Inc., an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation,
is dedicated to supporting innovative programs and educators through new sources of direct funding to
enrich the educational experience of Mount Vernon students.

NEWS ALERT!

WITH THE HELP OF MANY, WE DID IT! WE RAISED MORE THAN $875,000 TO SAVE SPORTS.

The Mount Vernon Educational Foundation Inc., designated in July 2008 as the lead charity by the Mount Vernon City School District to raise funds to save the 2008/09 school sports program, is thrilled to announce that we raised more than $875,000 to save sports. Working together, a coalition of dedicated community members and generous benefactors, including “Save Our Sports,” a committee formed by Mayor Clinton Young and T.E.A.M (Together Everyone Achieves Miracles) Mount Vernon, school district representatives, community members, elected officials

The Mount Vernon Educational Foundation, Inc. remains committed to its mission. Our volunteer Board of Directors continues to solicit donations to support innovative programs and educators to enrich the educational experience of all Mount Vernon students. Underfunded State and Federal educational mandates combined with New York State's budget woes will challenge local school districts across New York to do more with less in 2010. In these times, we in the community of Mount Vernon will have to do more.

If you are interested in the activities of the Mount Vernon Educational Foundation, Inc., please join us at our next meeting. All supporters are welcome to attend to the next meeting of the Board of Directors, which is scheduled for February 9, 2010 at 6:30 p.m., which will be held at the Mount Vernon Board of Education Building, located at 165 North Columbus Avenue, Mount Vernon, New York.
